Natick Man Slaps Cops, Falls On Face: Framingham PD

Police pulled him over for driving on three sparking rims, but he said he didn't notice. A strange struggle, and arrest, ensued.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Natick man was arrested after slapping officers during a bizarre traffic stop, a report says. Robert Gerrig, 59, was found by police after a caller told dispatch a car on Concord Street, heading towards Hollis Street, had hit a curb and had a flat tire.

The MetroWest Daily News reported police as saying the officer found Gerrig driving a Volkswagen Jetta driving on three rims sparking. When he was pulled over, he seemed "disoriented and said he did not know he was driving with flat tires," police said in a report, the Daily News reported.

Police didn't believe Gerrig was intoxicated, the report says, but did think he was impaired somehow. He treid to walk away, telling the cops he didn't do anything wrong.
