New Vice Principal Announced at Dunning Elementary

The new vice principal had taught at Stapleton Elementary School earlier in her career.

Amy Mulkerin has been appointed the new vice principal at Dunning Elementary School.

“Ms. Mulkerin’s experience with inclusion models, in particular Special Education students, will be an asset for the Dunning community,” said Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott, in a press release this afternoon, June 17.

Mulkerin is returning to the Framingham Public Schools where she started as an elementary teacher.

“I am confident that Ms. Mulkerin’s inclusion experience will further deepen the educational opportunities for students and staff at Dunning,“ said Dunning Principal Michele Schecter, in a press release.

Mulkerin holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York at Cortland in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree from Simmons College in Special Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies Degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in Educational Leadership.

Parents were able to meet Mulkerin and the other finalist at a meeting in May.

Milkerin replaces Schecter, who was vice principal, and was promoted to principal for the 2015-16 school year. Current Principal Kim Taylor is moving to Kim Elementary in the fall.
