Nobscot Neighborhood Re-Creates Halloween For Boy With Allergies
A Western Massachusetts boy had a miserable Halloween, due to his food allergies. His Framingham aunt and neighborhood changed that memory.

On a crisp November night in Nobscot, Christian, 2, put on his Incredible Hulk costume and went door-to-door trick or treating.
It was a week after Halloween, but parts of the neighborhood wanted to help re-create the holiday for a boy, who doesnβt even live in town, who after trick or treating all night on October 31 came home with nothing he could eat or enjoy.
Christian, who lives in Western Massachusetts, has multiple allergies; and everything he received was unsafe for him, said his mom, who was overjoyed by the support from a neighborhood hours away from their home.

The event was organized by Christianβs aunt Nicole Siswick, who lives in Nobscot.
For almost two hours, Christian, his brother Xavier, 4, and Siswickβs children went door-to-door collecting safe treats, as well as small toys, Play-doh, and bubbles.

About 90 minutes into their November 7 Halloween, they ended up on Donovan Drive, where several cars were parked for a trunk-or-treat event. Framingham residents who didnβt live in Nobscot were encouraged to park in the cul-de-sac.
βAs soon as I heard about it we wanted to participate, said Meredith Wolff.
At the end of the cul-de-sac, resident Robert Rieder, had set up a fire pit, where kids waiting for Christian and the other trick-or-treaters could roast hot dogs and visit a sβmores station. He also served apple cider and refreshments.
Adults had conversations around the fire pit, and the children played soccer and other games in the street.
βItβs so wonderful to see everyone willing to make this special for my nephew,β said Siswick.
βI have not had to worry at all tonight about what he received,β said Christianβs mom. βHeβs having so much fun.β
