Paving Scheduled for Danforth and Newbury Streets Monday

Below is a list of road construction projects in Framingham for the week of May 10.

The following is a list of road projects motorists will encounter this week in Framingham. The projects are a combination of Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and Town of Framingham projects.

  • CENTRAL STREET BRIDGE OVER THE SUDBURY RIVER: Two large cranes to facilitate the deconstruction of the bridge are in place and will begin major demolition of the bridge beams. Traffic will continue to be detoured over the Wickford Road bridge. Please allow additional travel time.
  • CONCORD STREET (Route 126) DOWNTOWN FRAMINGHAM RECONSTRUCTION: One crew from the MassDOT contractor will continue drainage work on Concord Street and Union Avenue. A second crew will begin storm drain construction on Hollis Street between Gordon Street and Irving Street. Expect minor delays.
  • DANFORTH STREET: The contractor will be putting a Hot Asphalt Leveler (HMA) course on the roadway on Monday, May 11. Expect delays. Seek alternate route.
  • ELM STREET WESTON AQUEDUCT PEDESTRIAN CROSSING: The contractor will begin construction of the new HAWK system at the Weston Aqueduct crossing of Elm Street. Expect minimal traffic delays.
  • EVERSOURCE DOWNTOWN UTILITY PROJECT: The contractor will continue night work on Sunday through Wednesday evenings, from 7 to 5 a.m.
  • HERBERT STREET/IRVING STREET/LORING DRIVE: Contractors will workingon manholes and connections on Loring Drive. A second crew will be installing a water main on Blandin Avenue. Expect moderate delays.
  • MELLON STREET: The contractor will be performing final surveying work. Expect minimal traffic delays.
  • NEWBURY STREET: The contractor will be putting a Hot Asphalt Leveler (HMA) course on the roadway on Monday, May 11. Expect delays. School buses will be given priority. Seek alternate route.
  • RIVERPATH DRIVE: Minor widening of the roadway on the north side of Old Connecticut Path from River Path Drive to Danforth Street. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Expect minor delays.
  • ROUTE 9 BRIDGE OVER FOSS RESERVOIR OUTLET: No lane closures expected for motor vehicles; however, the pedestrian sidewalk on the westbound side of Route 9 will be closed. Minor traffic impacts expected.
  • SAXONVILLE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: In the area of School Street and A Street, utility wire transfers and pole removal will continue and minor sidewalk work will take place. Please expect occasional delays.
  • SPEEN STREET: Ongoing survey work will continue on Speen Street south of Cochituate Road to the Natick town line. Minimal traffic delays expected.
  • WATER STREET: The contractor will continue work on the retaining wall on the east side of Water Street. Expect minor delays.
  • WHITTIER STREET: The contractor will be putting a Hot Asphalt Leveler (HMA) course on the roadway on Monday, May 11. Expect delays. Seek alternate route.
  • WINTER STREET BRIDGE OVER CSX: The MassDOT contractor will begin work on a temporary sewer bypass and prepare the site for construction to begin. Expect minor delays.
