Rams Spike Buccaneers for 13th Win Of the Season

The Framingham State women's volleyball team defeated Massachusetts Maritime 3-0 on Wednesday.

Senior Danielle Girard registered eight kills to lead Framingham State University to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-7, 25-5 and 25-9 in a league match played Wednesday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center in Buzzards Bay.

Junior Julia Wan added seven kills, five digs and four solo blocks for the visiting Rams (13-2, 3-0 Conference), who also received five kills and three digs from senior Annie DeLoid.

Sophomore Molly Meehan added six digs and five set assists for Framingham State, which received four service aces from junior Sara Malicka and a combined 21 set assists from sophomore Sarah Leonard and freshmen Lauren Salisbury and Mackenzie Whalen.

Freshman Jennifer Roy notched four kills in the setback for the host Buccaneers (1-12), who also received three kills and six digs from junior Meaghan Brain as well as three kills from senior Emily Calnan.

Senior Charleen Klangos chipped in with eight digs and two kills for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received nine set assists from junior Emma Ethier and six digs from freshman Kaleigh Hoffman.

Framingham State travels to Norton on Saturday afternoon for a non-league tri-match with MIT and host Wheaton beginning at 1 p.m.
