School Committee Extends Chief Operating Officer's Contract
Ed Gotgart has been with the Framingham Public Schools since 2008.

Framingham Public Schools’ Chief Operating Officer Ed Gotgart will stay with the district for another year.
The School Committee voted last night to extend his contract to June 30, 2016.
There was no pay increase, with the new one-year contract. Gotgart makes just over $150,000 a year.

He “does an an outstanding job,” said School Committee member Eric Silverman.
The “district is far better with his continued service,” said Silverman.

Gotgart was hired in 2008 as business manager for the district by then Superintendent of School Gene Thayer. He was hired to replace David Proule who left after a decade with the district.
After his one year contract ended, he was given a 3-year deal by then Superintendent of Schools Steven Hiersche. He was later given the title of Finance Director.
Under Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott, Gotgart was given the title of Chief Operating Officer.
