Selectman Michael Bower Weds Long-Time Partner John Shi
Selectman Michael Bower married John Shi in an October ceremony in their Framingham backyard.
On a sunny, fall day Selectman Michael Bower married his long-time partner John Shi.
Randolph Town Clerk Brian Howard presided over the Monday, Oct. 12 ceremony, at the coupleβs Framingham home.
Bowerβs parents Charlie and Alice Bower, celebrated their 59th anniversary on that same day.

The couple wanted the day to be a focus on family and friendship. The Howard and Bower families have been friends for nearly 40 years.
Bower and Shi have been together for almost 14 years.

Bower, a former Framingham School Committee member and chair, is currently a Framingham Selectman, and vice chair of the Board.
Bower is employed by John Hancock as a systems designer and software engineer. He has been with the company since 1997.
Shi is employed as a restaurant manager for Jingβs Garden in Holliston, where he has worked for 15 years.
The wedding reception was at La Cantina Italiana restaurant in Framingham.
Bowerβs sister Mary and brother Peter made the wedding toasts at the reception.
The coupled honeymooned in Canada, with visits to Niagara Falls and the Hockey Hall of Fame in Ontario.
