The annual track event sponsored by the B.A.A. and adidas is an opportunity to expose middle school students to the world of running and the excitement of Boston Marathon weekend.
Each Cameron runner ran in one to three races.
“They finish a race tired yet energized - wanting to run again. It’s fun to see,“ said Dauer. “Our runners experience nervousness and excitement as they prepare for the event. “
“The excitement they experience leads them towards more running,” said Dauer. “Our Cameron runners come from a variety of backgrounds and running experience. Participating in our intramural track program and the BAA Relay Challenge event excites many of our runners to run and train more.”
Also on Saturday, Cameron runners - Sameer Akhtar, Pedro Andino, Viola Appiah-Danquah, and Grace Poku - ran in the B.A.A. Middle School 1K. The two 1K races are comprised of two boys and two girls from the eight towns along the marathon route.
