SLIDESHOW: Flyers Defeat Water Warriors For 9th Win of Season

The Framingham High girls swim & dive team defeated the Water Warriors of Brookline Friday night.

The Flyers won 94-90. The team is now 9-3-1, under head coach Mike Foley.

The Flyers will be looking for their 10th win of the season Tuesday night against Natick at Keefe Technical’s pool. Meet starts at 4:30 p.m. It is the final home meet for the seniors on the team.

Framingham edged out Brookline in the medley relay to start the meet Friday night.

The Flyers finished in a time of 1:59.75, with Brookline taking second at 1:59.97. Both teams had state qualifying times. Framingham also took third in the relay.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Framingham captured first, second, and fourth place. Senior Devon Tice won the race in a time of 2:06.08, which qualified her for the state meet.

Sophomore Kara McCurdy won the individual medley event 2:21.33, and qualified for the state meet. Framingham also took third and fourth place in that event.

The Flyers finished second, third, and fourth in the sprint event - the 50-yard freestyle.

Sophomore Halia Bower won the diving event for Framingham.

The Flyers finished second and third in the 100-yard butterfly event, and first, second, and fifth in the 100-yard freestyle.

Framingham finished second, third, and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle. Senior Natalie Burkett finished second, junior Bella Tersoni finished third and sophomore Julia Long fourth, all qualified for the state meet.

Framingham took second place in the 200-freestyle relay, with a state qualifying time.

The Flyers finished second, third, and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke. Sophomore Olivia Nelson had the best time for Framingham with 1:08.48 for second. Aja Matzker finished third at 1:08.50.

The Flyers finished second and third in the final event of the night, the 400-freestyle relay.
