As the nation mourns the deaths in South Carolina, Framingham Coming Together held its second event focusing on race relations.
As the nation mourns with the community of Charleston, South Carolina, after a man shot and killed 9 people in a church, Framingham held its second Coming Together event to discuss race at Wilson Elementary School Thursday night.
Greater Framingham Community Church Rev. J. Anthony Lloyd started the Framingham Coming Together event with a moment of silence for the black men and women shot by a white man.
The second Framingham Coming Together event focused on race and police.

Incidents of white police officers accused and convicted of brutality against black individuals have been front and center on the nightly news, but Framingham Police have not had any incidents.
The event sponsored by the Framingham Interfaith Clergy Association, the Town of Framingham and several other community organizations was moderated by Plymouth Church’s Rev. Greg Morisse.

After the panel discussion, small group discussions were held.
Framingham Police had about two dozen officers present to participate in the event.
The first event was held in March, after several postponements due to snow.
