SLIDESHOW: Framingham Drama Company Qualifies for Semifinals
Framingham High students Tristan Burke and Grace Graham earn acting honors.
Framingham High School Drama Company’s performance of Vieux Carré earned them a spot in the semifinals of the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild’s Drama Festival.
Framingham High traveled to Brookline to compete in the preliminary round of the festival on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Framingham High will next perform in the semifinal round on March 14, likely at Framingham High School.

Vieux Carré is an autobiographical play by Tennessee Williams, set in a boardinghouse in New Orleans.
During the competition, students must set up their stage within 5 minutes, perform within 40 minutes and take down the stage within 5 minutes during their performance. One second over and they are disqualified.

The entire production is student-designed and executed, down to the set, makeup, hair, sound, lights, and costumes.
Framingham High students Tristan Burke and Gracie Graham earned acting awards for their roles of Tye McCool and Jane Sparks.
The Company won awards for set design and costume design. Anne Stockless was Framingham’s costume design chair. The set design chair was Alison Castaneda.
The Framingham Costume Design Team included Julia Bertelli, Samantha D’Ercole, Maggie Farese, Kat Lawrence, Callie Llewellyn, Emma Lyons, Olivia Osei-Kuffor, Jordan Petro, Genna Schindel, and Symphony Shea.
The Framingham Set Design/Construction Team included Dan Adams, Andrew Caira, Lucas Chaves, Natalie Downey, Becca Fintonis, Megan Flannery, Jordana Kagan, Isa Montarou, Ivis Ribeiro, Grace Sherwood, Kara Wright, and Seth Wulf
The Company won an award for live music performance too, under the direction of students Jake Binnall and Seth Wulf.
Student festival coordinators are Callie Llewellyn and Sarah Rosenthal. The production stage manager is Gabby Barbuto with Jamey Miller as assistant director. Assistant Stage Managers are Jordan Ramsay and Hayley Santaflorentina.

More than 100 high schools competed yesterday in the preliminary rounds.
The finals will be March 26-27-28.
Framingham High has qualified for the finals 10 of the last 12 years, including last year.
