SLIDESHOW: Framingham Frogs Lose Close Meet To Bluefish
The two Summer Suburban League rivals opened the season at Keefe Technical's Pool Thursday night, July 2.

When the Framingham Frogs and the Newton Bluefish meet during the Summer Suburban League, it is always a thrilling meet.
Typically, the meet is billed as a battle of the undefeated teams to determine the league title.
Last night, the two teams met to kick off the summer season, and again the meet did not disappoint.

In the end, the Bluefish captured the victory by just four points - 240-236.
Last season, the Framingham Frogs went undefeated and won the Summer Suburban League summer swim title, under coach Shawn O’Leary. That was O’Leary’s first title. He took over the summer team 5 years ago.

Until the 2014 season, the Frogs had finished second in the league behind arch-rival Newton. Last year the Framingham Frogs snapped Newton’s 52-meet winning streak. The Frogs defeated the Newton Blue Fish 250.5 to 230.5 on July 22.
The Frogs and Bluefish were close in points after after the freestyle portion of the meet, last night, July 2.
The Bluefish took a 20 point lead by the end of the breaststroke portion of the meet.
The two teams were close again after the backstroke event.
So it came down to the team relays at the end of the meet, to determine the winner.
Despite Framingham winning the last three relays of the night, the Frogs were mathematically eliminated from the victory mid-way through the relays.
Next up for the Framingham Frogs, who are the the Framingham Parks & Recreation coed swim team, is Needham on the road on Tuesday, July 7.The team has more than 150 swimmers ages 6-18.
The next home meet for the Frogs is Tuesday, July 14 against Medfield.
