SLIDESHOW: Frozen-Themed Purim Spiel and Costumed Carnival

Temple Beth Am hosted a Purim Spiel and a Carnival on Sunday, March 1.

Temple Beth Am hosted a Purim Spiel Sunday, March 1, followed by a Purim Carnival.

A Purim Spiel is comical Jewish theatrical production, where participants wear costumes that depict the characters in the story in the Book of Esther.

  • This year’s theme was Frozen.

The role of Anna (Esther) was portrayed by Sarah Rosenthal and Alyssa Berkson portrayed Elsa (Vashti).

Other roles were:

  • Ken Stone as Olaf
  • Danny Fier as Kristoff
  • Don Levy as Hans

The Carnival, sponsored by Temple Beth Am’s Sisterhood, featured games, face painting, cupcake decorating, hula hoops and arts & crafts. Attendees were encouraged to attend in costume.

Purim is a Jewish holiday that celebrates the deliverance of the Jewish people from the Haman during the time of Queen Esther of Persia.
