SLIDESHOW: Rams Skate Past Lancers For 4-1 Win

Framingham, Mass.- The Framingham State University men’s ice hockey team picked up their first conference win in a 4-1 victory over Worcester State Thursday evening at Loring Arena.

With the win, the Rams move to 2-1 (1-1 Conference) the Lancers slip to 1-1-1.

After skating to a scoreless first period the Rams scored a power-play goal just 39 seconds into the second frame. Tyler Colacchio found the back of the net with assists coming from Jake McKinnon (a Framingham High graduate) & Keith Barnaby

The Rams went into the second intermission up two scores after Greg Stoyasent a one-time shot home from Chris Andre.

The hosts extended their lead to three scores in the fifth minute of the 3rd period when Colacchio scored his second of the night with Hayden Lyle and Barnaby assisting.

The Lancers got on the board with a power-play goal at the 12:44 mark in the 3rd period when Mitchell Purdie broke up the Rams shutout with an assist be credited to Marcus Mazur.

The Rams scored their 4th goal on the power-play with 1:41 to go in the game when Cam Coburn found the back of the net with Peter Mingus & Ricky O’Connor assisting.

Freshman Adam Calabrese made 22 saves earning the victory in his first collegiate start. His counterpart Max Kirkwood turned away 35 shots in the loss for Worcester State.

The Rams return to the ice for non-conference action at Daniel Webster on Saturday, Nov. 14th at 7:30 p.m.
