Framingham State University hosted a free, family-friendly science festival for the community on Saturday.
The 6-hour event was called Science on State Street Festival, and was part of the larger Cambridge Science Festival.
The event also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope, which launched on April 24, 1990.

Attendees toured a special outdoor exhibit “From Earth to the Universe” that features breathtaking astronomical images from the Hubble and Chandra telescopes.
The images are on loan from the Chandra X-ray Observatory at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, explained Dr. Irene Porro, director of Framingham State University’s Christa McAuliffe Center.

The McAuliffe Center also offered six free planetarium shows, that were all sold out by just after 1 p.m.
On the University’s quad were hands-on experiments, robotics booths, live animals, and interactive science projects, overseen by university students.
