State Commissioner To Speak About PARCC at Framingham School Committee Meeting

The Massachusetts Deputy Education Commissioner will speak at the Framingham School Committee meeting on March 17.

The Massachusetts Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is scheduled to speak at the Framingham School Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 17.

“The School Committee and Administration have been closely monitoring the community’s concerns relating to the implementation of the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) testing in grades 3 to 8 in lieu of MCAS testing this coming spring. It is apparent that there is deep concern and many questions,” stated a press release issued Thursday afternoon.

To help clarify the issues, and so that each of us can better understand all of the implications and ramifications of the underlying facts and issues, the School Committee has added Jeff Wulfson, the Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in charge of student assessment, to its March 17 agenda to address community questions and concerns about the implications of the PARCC exam,” states the press release.
