Veterans Sponsoring Contest to Dedicate Christa McAuliffe Library Flag Pole

The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Framingham Post 929, are sponsoring a contest for students to dedicate the Christa McAuliffe branch Library’s flag pole.

The purpose is to “provide an inspirational message to be inscribed, in granite, at the base of the flag pole in front of the new Christa McAuliffe Library under construction in Nobscot The dedication’s purpose is to both remember Christa McAuliffe and to inspire future adventures,” said Framingham veteran Nick Nick Paganella, commander.

The mission, if Framingham students accept, is to in140 characters (letters) or less create an inspirational message to capture the indomitable spirit of Christa McAuliffe; teacher, astronaut and leader,” said Paganella.

All Framingham students in grades 1-12 are eligible to enter.

Entries should include the 40 character message, name, school, and grade.

The winner will be announced on Memorial Day, May 25, at the Town of Framingham’s 2015 event.

In addition to having your dedication inscribed in granite, the winner will receive a gratuity from VFW Post 929.
