Woman Allegedly Steals During 'Shop With A Cop' Benefit

During an event that pairs cops with needy children to shop for the holidays, a woman allegedly stole more than $1,000 in merchandise.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—During an annual shop-a-thon that pairs local cops with needy kids in the area, a woman reportedly tried to steal more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Target, according to reports.

Melissa Allen, 32, was arrested and charged with larceny of property worth more than $250, resisting arrest and providing police a false name during booking, after allegedly trying to steal clothes, electronics and merchandise, reports the Milford Daily News.

The Framingham Police Association along with the Ashland, Holliston and Natick Police Departments will be hosted the Second Annual “Shop with a Cop”on Dec. 19 at Target in Framingham. More than 75 officers had a Chick-fil-A donated dinner, and then afterward, the officer and student teams shopped for a gift up to $50 at the store.
