Town officials are seeking a court order to open the 202 ballots in a sealed box that were found in the town clerk's vault.
GRAFTON, MA — Grafton officials are getting a court order to open 202 early-voting ballots that went uncounted and were found in a sealed box in the town clerk's vault, according to the Grafton News.
Grafton's annual town election was a week ago and the results narrowly passed the Proposition 2 ½ tax cap override by 98 votes. The $4 million override adds funds to school and town budgets. The election also showed Colleen Roy and Mathew Often beating incumbents Jennifer Thomas and Donna Stock.
According to The Grafton News, the uncounted ballots came from Precinct 2, were the majority of the early voting ballots were cast. The town said it will release a statement explaining the mistake.
