Root For Your Favorite Silver Lake Beach Lifeguard
Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Grafton.

It's Friday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Grafton to help make your day a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.
1. Root for your favorite Grafton lifeguard.
The Silver Lake Beach lifeguards will compete against each other an informal "Summer Olympics" at 2:15 p.m. Friday, beach Director John Stephens told Grafton Patch on Thursday night.
2. Why was Thursday's half-day parks program cancelled?
Rain prompted the cancellation, according to Grafton's Facebook page.
3. He's a worldly Lion.
This item was posted on the Grafton Lions Club's Facebook page on Thursday:
"One our Grafton Lions is in Paris on vacation and found the Lions of Paris headquarters. Lions around the world have similar goals and ideas. It appears that they too are running a golf tournament."
4. Did you visit the Sightmobile?
The Lions also report screening 21 people over three hours during Tuesday night's National Night Out.
5. It's "Grafton and the Art of Road Maintenance."
Grafton's DPW advisory committee is recommending Grafton spend $2 million on road maintenance annually for five years.
Spending $2 million annually would result in a "lower overall required cost" in the long run, consultant Lance Baden of Vanasse Hangen Brustlin told selectmen Tuesday night.
