Dense Fog Wednesday to Drop Visibility

A dense fog advisory is in effect for HAmilton and Wenham on Wednesday morning because visibility will be a quarter mile or less.

Dense fog Wednesday morning will reduce the visibility to a quart-mile or less in Hamilton and Wenham.

A dense fog advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday night and it runs through Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. The advisory was issued because the fog is expected to reduce visibility to a quarter mile or less for at least three hours.

The dense fog is expected across most of southern New England, including Marblehead, through mid-morning on Wednesday.

The fog “will make for hazardous driving conditions,” the weather service said, especially during the morning commute.

“Motorists are advised to slow down, as objects on and near roadways will be seen only at close range,” the weather service said.
