FBI Report: How Much Violent Crime Happened in Hamilton and Wenham?

The FBI has released the 2014 Unified Crime Report which features statistics for crime in Hamilton and Wenham.

The FBI recently released its annual ”Crime in the United States” report, which includes information about Hamilton and Wenham.

The data provided includes “ the number of offenses that come to the attention of law enforcement for violent crime and property crime, as well as data regarding clearances of these offenses.”

According to the report, Hamilton saw six violent crimes in 2014. Violent crime includes offenses involving force or the threat of force: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, according to the FBI.

There were six aggravated assaults, 58 property crimes, seven burglaries, 48 larcenies and three motor vehicle thefts.

In Wenham, there were four violent crimes in 2014. The town saw two rapes, one robbery, one aggravated assault, seven property crimes and seven larcenies.

Nationally, violent crime decreased nationally last year by 0.2 percent from 2013, according to the report.
