Fire Destroys Gloucester Home, Damages 2 Others
A fire ripped through a Gloucester home on Saturday, but no injuries were reported.

GLOUCESTER, MA – Firefighters battled a four-alarm blaze on Centennial Avenue that destroyed one house and damaged two others.
Gloucester Fire responded to the fire in a single-family home around 5 p.m. Saturday. When firefighters arrived, both 76 and 74 Centennial Ave. were on fire: 76 was full ablaze, and the exterior of 74 was on fire, according to a statement from Gloucester Fire. Shortly after, 78 Centennial Ave. also caught fire. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters from Rockport, Essex, Ipswich, Hamilton, and Danvers responded. Salem, Wenham, and Middleton firefighters helped cover Gloucester during the blaze.

"This was a major fire, but our firefighters and the vital mutual aid fire companies from our neighbors did a tremendous job stopping the spread of the fire and containing it," said Captain Joe Aiello, who was one of the first firefighters on scene.
The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation by the Gloucester Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Fire Marshal's Office.
