What Would You Include in a 'Welcome to Wenham' Packet?

The Town of Wenham is working on packets for new residents of information about town services. What would you like to see in that packet?

If you didn’t grow up in Wenham that means you know what it’s like to be new in town.

You also know that finding answers to some basic questions can be tough for a new resident.

It’s a problem Town Administrator Peter Lombardi and Town Clerk Dianne Bucco are working to address with new resident packets currently being assembled.

According to Lombardi’s latest report to selectmen, he and Bucco are working with department heads to assemble the information that will go into a packet educating newcomers about the services offered by the town.

“This project ... is an attempt to reach out to the community in a new and different way to let them know what local resources are available to them,” Lombardi explained in his recent report.

Lombardi went on to say that the idea was suggested by Bucco, who learned about it during a recent New England Municipal Clerks Institute she attended in July.

Once completed, the packets will be housed on the town website.
