5 Things You Need to Know Today: May 16

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Tonight at 7 p.m., there will be a meeting at the Hopkinton Historical Society Building, 168 Hayden Rowe, to begin planning for a quilt to commemorate Hopkinton’s 300th anniversary. A Steering Committee will be formed to facilitate the design, creation, and installation of the quilt. After the 300th Anniversary celebrations conclude, the quilt will be donated to the town and hung on permanent display in the Historical Society Building.

3. Have you written a Letter to the Editor endorsing your favorite candidate for the upcoming town election yet? All letters submitted to sean.odonnell@patch.com on or before Thursday, May 17 will be ran before the May 21 election. 

4. The Dunkin’ Donuts located at 133 West Central Street in Natick, located within a gas station, will host a job fair to recruit new talent on May 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be hosted by SF Management LLC, an independently owned and operated management company for a Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee. Applications will be accepted for the Milford, Holliston, , Sherborn, Ashland, Natick and Framingham restaurants. Benefits include health insurance, supplemental insurance, paid vacation time and eight double-time paid holidays. A human resource manager will accept applications and conduct interviews on site. There will be a $250 sign-on bonus for anyone hired for the Ashland and Natick locations at the Job Fair.

5. The weather today will continue to be rainy, but with temperatures in the low 70s it won't be all bad. The sun will come out tomorrow, as Annie said, and temperatures will rise over the next few days nearing 80 on Monday.
