With an announcement from Hopkinton based EMC today, the company said their first quarter profit was up 23 percent. "Excluding one-time items, <a href="http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2012/04/19/emc_1q_profit_rises_23_pct_on_higher_sales/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">the company posted an adjusted profit of 37 cents per share </a>for the recent quarter. Revenue increased 11 percent to $5.09 billion from $4.61 billion," an <a href="http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2012/04/19/emc_1q_profit_rises_23_pct_on_higher_sales/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">article on Boston.com </a>said. The company said they expect to meet or exceed their previous profit prediction for the year.
