Excavator Catches Fire In Hopkinton
Hopkinton fire crews put the fire out in half an hour.

HOPKINTON, MA — A construction excavator caught fire in Hopkinton on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire happened just before 1:30 p.m. at a construction site on Wood Street. Hopkinton Deputy Fire Chief William Miller said the machine was running when it caught fire. The person operating the machine was not injured.
The Hopkinton Fire Department sent two crews along with a ladder team to douse the flames. A photo posted online by the department shows the back and underside of the machine on fire.

The fire was put out by 2 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
