Find your Hopkinton Friends on Facebook

With news and information going online more and more, Social media sites like Facebook are one of the best ways to stay on top of the game. Here are some of the new additions to Hopkinton's social media portfolio.

It seems like everyone and there mother has a Facebook these days, and while some teenagers might feel uncomfortable with that; we here at Patch are embracing it.

Our likes are up to 260, and we want to see that number hit 300 by the time the seniors graduate from .

We aren’t the only ones using Facebook in town though. Here is a rundown of some other organizations that are stepping up their social media game.

The Sharon Timlin Memorial 5k page was started last month. Event organizers are trying to help spread the word about registering for the race and signing up to volunteer. As of late last month 600 runners had already registered.

Baypath Humane Society has been on Facebook for a while, but after a temporary closure in February gave the workers’ and volunteers’ time to reflect, they have really started utilizing the page more.  They have been updating friends about recent adoptions as will as the surgery a dog named Caleb just underwent.

Even people from the political scene are taking their campaigns to Facebook.

Frank D’Urso and Jon Graziano are two of the four candidates and both have campaign pages.

On Graziano’s site he has one of the cutest campaign videos we’ve ever seen, a soccer team he helps coach is cheering him on.

For D’Urso, it’s been all about connecting people and helping to spread the word. D’Urso has been talking to people about getting his campaign signs posted around town.
