Homeowner Foils Break-In Attempt on Gorwin Drive
Two suspects were scared off when a Holliston resident confronted them in her Gorwin Drive home.

Officers from the Holliston Police Department and surrounding towns searched the Gorwin Drive area of Holliston after a caller reported two men had broken in to her home while she was inside.
"One person knocked at the door to see if anyone was home, a common thing for burglars to do when they are checking houses, and the homeowner did not answer the door because she thought it was just a solicitor," Holliston Police Chief John Moore said. "Then she heard a crash coming from her back door."
Moore said the two suspects broke in to a back door on the residence and the resident confronted them and scared them off.

"Its’ good that she was home but it’s scary that she had to confront the bad guy," Moore said.
Holliston's new K9 Cesh was called in, along with the K9 unit from Ashland to search for the suspects who fled in different directions.

“No matter how big or small the town is, the K9 unit can be incredible helpful with instances like this,” Moore said.
The department responded to the incident when the caller reported the break-in at 10 a.m. Officers were in the scene searching until both trails went cold at 1 p.m.
At this time the department has no known suspects. Moore said it does not appear that any other homes in the area were broken in to.
