HOPKINTON, MA — The Hopkinton Police Department will hold its annual Night Out on Tuesday, Sept. 28, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the Town Common.

The event was scheduled for Thursday, but it has been postponed due to weather.

Night Out, which was first held in 2014, is a time for residents to come together with the police to build community partnerships.

"Chief Bennett is welcoming all of Hopkinton to enjoy the night," Sgt. Tim Brennan said.
The event offers table exhibits, food, games, a bounce house and face painting.

Brennan said there will also be pony rides for the children, and the Massachusetts State Police will have equipment on display such as an old State Police cruiser and mobile van.

"We're also hoping to get the state police helicopter and state police horses," Brennan said.

Last year's Night Out had to be canceled due to COVID-19. Brennan said there will be no need for any COVID-19 restrictions since this is an outdoor event.

"If people are more comfortable wearing a mask, they may wear a mask," he added.
