Increased Break-Ins in Holliston and Surrounding Towns
The Holliston Police Department have responded to 5 break-ins in the past two weeks.

Holliston residents have been experiencing an uptick in break-ins recently, and according to Holliston Police Chief John Moore, the town isn't isolated.
"People think these break-ins are happening just in Holliston, but they're all over," Moore said. "Natick has had a lot, Medway, Hopkinton had a few and Wayland has had a handful."
The break-ins, which happen mostly during the day, have occurred all over town. Police have responded to break-ins on Forest Park Drive, Timber Ledge, Cedar Street, Fiske Street and Pine Oak Street in the past two weeks.

"The theory is that there are a lot of people who are out of work and a lot of people who are hooked on drugs that are desperate," Moore said.
Moore encouraged residents to be vigilant to protect their houses, their property and their personal safety.

He suggested residents speak with their neighbor's and keep an eye out for suspicious activity in the area. Residents are encouraged to call the police immediately if they notice a suspicious person or vehicle in the area.
Moore also said by keeping a television on, making sure their house is locked and changing their schedules to prevent patterns could help deter burglars.
The burglars have been reportedly targeting small items such as iPads, jewelry, silverware and change although in one case a heavy safe was stolen from a house.
