Man Arrested After Break-In, Lost Child at Marathon Start

Friday, April 12

2:28 p.m.: A person went in to the Hopkinton Police Department to report stolen equipment from Mechanic Street.

6:02 p.m.: Officers responded to a hit and run crash on West Main Street.

6:55 p.m.: A driver was given a written warning for failure to keep right after rolling their over vehicle on Granite Street. No one was injured in the crash.

Saturday, April 13

2:00 p.m.: An officer stopped an erratic vehicle that had left the town of Westborough.

3:08 p.m.: An employee from a gas station on West Main Street reported that a motorist had crashed in to one of the pumps then left the area. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested Jordan Armando Cruz, 34, of 33 Juniper St., Lawrence. Cruz was charged with unlicensed operation and drunken-driving.

4:54 p.m.: A caller reported that someone had spray painted some rocks on Forest Lane.

Sunday, April 14

7:49 p.m.: A caller reported an elderly person pushing a disabled vehicle on Fruit Street.

5:04 p.m.: An officer reported that a vehicle nearly struck several pedestrians in a crosswalk on Main Street.

6:47 p.m.: The Hopkinton Fire Department assisted a resident of Elizabeth Road whose gas grill caught fire.

9:13 p.m.: An officer spoke to four youths on Elm Street who were throwing rocks in the road.

11:58 p.m.: An officer responded to a call of noise on East Main Street. The noise was coming from bicyclists participating in the midnight marathon ride.

Monday, April 15

8:54 a.m.: An officer assisted a lost 7-year-old on Main Street.

Tuesday, April 16

4:45 a.m.: An officer assisted with a search for a break-in suspect on Pond Street.

10:00 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer responded to the Hillcrest Drive area where a caller reported a coyote.

1:33 p.m.: A caller reported that windows had been smashed in on two vehicles on Granite Street.

11:30 p.m.: Officers searched the Pleasant Street area after a break-in was reported. Police arrested Drew Newton, 18, of 15 Cedar St., and charged him with nighttime breaking and entering and larceny over $250 after police responded to a break-in on Pleasant Street.
