Obituaries: Anesta Carey

Anesta H. Carey, 85, of Holliston, passed away Friday, June 8. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Betty Hayes. 

Raised in Watertown, Anesta moved to Holliston in 1962 until 2009. She was a 1944 graduate of Watertown High School and a reunion worker for many years.

She worked for over 25 years as a customer service rep at Fair and Yeager Insurance Agency in Natick and came out of a short retirement to work at Wayside Insurance Agency in Framingham for an additional 10 years. Anesta enjoyed working at the Holliston Pantry Shelf and was a member of the Board of Directors for many years. She joined the West Suburban Chapter of Massachusetts Mother of Twins in 1963 and remained active until 2009. She was the president of the State Association in the late 1970’s and a Board Member until 2004 and was honored by both groups for her many years of service. Anesta was also a member of the South Middlesex Chapter, Mass Assoc. of Insurance Women and director of the local chapter in the late 1970’s. 

She is survived by her twin daughters, Judy Foley and her husband Stephen Foley of Longmeadow, MA., and Jan Drapeau of Franklin, MA.; her grandchildren, Scott, Dan and his wife Sara, Jason and Jen Drapeau; Tim and his wife Tonya, Kait and Meg Foley and her great grandchildren, Isabelle, Mireille, Annabelle, Lorelai, Melody, and Emily. She was predeceased by her grandson, Michael B. Foley and her husband of 58 years, Brad Carey. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St.

A service in the funeral home will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with burial following at Lake Grove Cemetery.
