Police Log: Marijuana Violations, Late Night Beach Party

Friday, April 20

1:01 a.m.: A officer spoke to a person at the boat ramp of . The man said he worked at the park and was dropping off one boat and picking up another. The officer could not positively identify the man so he was sent on his way.

8:43 a.m.: A caller reported that her husband’s car had broken down on West Main Street. AAA was on route but the vehicle was a traffic hazard.

1:16 p.m.: A caller reported that a full size dump truck was spilling some of its load on Cedar Street. An officer was unable to find the truck.

5:38 p.m.: A person from School Street reported that their mailbox was stolen.

6:05 p.m.: An officer checked a vehicle parked on Meadowland Drive. The car was registered to an owner on neighboring Emma Road.

11:38 p.m.: An officer checked the beach on Lakeshore Drive where there were about 15 vehicles parked. An officer stopped one vehicle and issued the driver a ticket for an improper trailer.

Saturday, April 21

12:14 a.m.: An officer issued tickets for marijuana violations in a car on Hayden Rowe Street. The parents were called to pick up their sons, the vehicle was left overnight to be picked up in the morning.

1:43 a.m.: An officer checked on a person who was sleeping in their vehicle on Hayden Rowe Street. The officer called for an ambulance evaluation but eventually the person refused transport.

12:53 p.m.: An officer checked the Fruit Street pits where there was a report of a person in a white pickup truck shooting guns. The officer removed the person and told him that he was not allowed to shoot guns at that location.

3:27 p.m.: A caller from Nazneen Circle reported a large black snake in his garage. The caller said it was at least five-feet long. was notified.

4:52 p.m.: Kerry Ann Batte, 40, of 88 Main St. was arrested and charged with drunken-driving and a marked lanes violation.

7:31 p.m.: A caller from Glen Road called to tip an officer about a solicitor in the area. An officer checked the area but did not find anyone.

8:17 p.m.: A caller reported ATVs driving up and down Spring Street. An officer checked the area.

9:34 p.m.: A caller reported a man and a woman walking on Rafferty Road. An officer located the couple that lived on Wilson Street and were out for a walk.

10:50 p.m.: A caller reported that a passenger in a vehicle on Downey Street was pointing some type of laser in his eyes. Officers were unable to locate the person with the laser.

11:05 p.m.: A caller reported that there were cones across the road on Cedar Street. An officer removed them.

Sunday, April 22

3:38 a.m.: An officer checked a car parked on Hayden Rowe Street.

3:58 a.m.: An officer spoke to a person walking on Cedar Street. The person’s vehicle was disabled on Forest Street.

4:41 a.m.: An officer checked a vehicle parked on Main Street.
