Police Log: Pedestrian on the Highway, Dangerous Turkeys

Monday, May 7

3:37 p.m.: An officer from the Upton Police Department reported that an erratic driver was headed toward Hopkinton on School Street. An officer from Hopkinton was unable to track down the car.

4:05 p.m.: A 911 caller reported that a wire had fallen on School Street and was sparking. An officer from the Hopkinton Police Department responded with the who contacted NStar.

4:07 p.m.: A person went in to the to report their cell phone as stolen from East Main Street.

4:37 p.m.: A person went in to the station to report credit card fraud.

6:54 p.m.: A caller from Cedar Street reported hitting a large bird. An officer responded and found the turkey dead on the side of the roadway. A message was left for the DPW to pick up the carcass.

6:52 p.m.: A caller reported a large bag of tools and a toolbox sitting at a location on West Main Street unattended. An officer responded and did not find the tools.

7:03 p.m.: A caller wanted to log a complaint about a telemarketing company picking up a check at her door and giving her a hard time.

7:20 p.m.: A person from Wood Street reported a an on-going violation of the town’s working hours bylaw. An officer responded and spoke with the foreman although no work was being done at the time.

8:10 p.m.: A person reported that someone was walking on route 495. The state police were notified.

9:49 p.m.: A 911 caller from Huckleberry Road reported that someone parked in front of her house and walked down the street. The caller said that during the call several youths got in the car and drove off. An officer checked the area for the vehicle but was unable to find it.
