Police Log: Possible Jewelry Theft

Monday, April 23

12:15 a.m.: An officer from the checked a motor vehicle on West Main Street. It appeared to be a contractor.

12:51 a.m.: An officer checked a car parked on Hayward Street.

8:48 a.m.: An officer reported that an area of Front Street was washed out. The officer stood by while waiting for the Highway Department to respond. After several attempts the contractor working on the street was contacted to fix the road.

9:06 a.m.: A caller reported that she was involved in a minor car crash on West Main Street.

11:32 a.m.: A caller from Fourth Road reported that a white Dodge Caravan with ladders backed into his driveway. The homeowner said when he asked the men in the car what they were doing they said they were there to power-wash the man’s house. The homeowner did not hire anyone to do that job; furthermore it was raining outside. The men in the van said they must have had the wring house and left.

1:54 p.m.: A caller from Wood Street reported the possible theft of two pieces of jewelry. An officer spoke to the reporting person who said that her daughter might have the jewelry.

2:01 p.m.: An officer stopped a motor vehicle without a registration on East Main Street. The vehicle was still within the seven-day grace period.

4:16 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a suspicious motor vehicle on Emerson Way. An officer responded and reported that the person from the vehicle was placing political ads.

5:07 p.m.: A 911 caller reported that her fire alarm was going off in her Nichols Road House. An officer responded with the .

9:43 p.m.: A caller reported that his son’s vehicle broke down on Rocky Woods Road. An officer responded and assisted the male while waiting for a tow.
