Remembering Hopkinton's 9-11 Victim

This Sunday marks the anniversary of the 9-11 tragedy.

HOPKINTON, MA—We all remember where we were when it happened, and Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of the tragedy that shook the nation. Around the country, many will gather to honor and remember the victims of the 9-11 attack, which occurred on Sept. 11 of 2001. More than 3,000 people lost their lives that day.

Hopkinton lost one of its own in the attack:

  • Christopher Zarba, Jr, 44, was on AA Flight 11, and worked at Concord Communications. "The younger Mr. Zarba inherited his family's musical genes, and grew up to be a talented pianist and French horn player who performed with local symphonies in his free time. He even married a fellow horn player, Sheila Kiernan." Read the rest of her tribute on the NY Times Portraits of Grief.
