Route 135 Closed After Car Crashes Into Utility Pole

HOPKINTON, MA — Drivers in Hopkinton and Westborough should plan to avoid Route 135 Friday afternoon due to a downed utility pole that has closed the road.

A car crashed into the pole near 2 p.m. in the vicinity of 353 Wood St., which is between the Mass Pike overpass and the Whitehall State Park.

According to a picture tweeted by Hopkinton firefighters, the car had snapped the pole at its base, and the pole was leaning slightly over the roadway.
