Senior Pranks Cause Minor Disturbances at HHS

This year the senior class has done three pranks so far, see what they are and see what the School Resource Officer has to say about them.

With the school year coming to a close for seniors it’s time for them to let loose a little bit and have some fun.

One major part of that every year is taking part in senior pranks.

Although the pranks have been mild this year, School Resource Officer Phil Powers said this wasn’t always the case.

“It’s been a good year, I think the kids are so much more safe and respectful with their pranks,” Powers said.

This year the pranks have included placing fake parking tickets on cars in the parking lot (including one on Powers’ cruiser), carrying around loud whistles and most recently placing several pornographic magazines in the library.

While the adult themed images aren’t appropriate for a high school atmosphere, they don’t pose an immediate safety concern like pranks have in the past.

“One year the seniors covered the stairs in liquor soap, another year they poured BBs down the stairs,” Powers said. “One year they even tied fishing line across the stairs to trip people.”

Powers said that although senior pranks aren’t allowed, they are tolerated a little more recently because they have not caused safety concerns as they did in the past.
