Shen's Gymnastics Students Head to State Championship

Results from the girls' level 3 and 4 state gymnastics championship.

Shen’s Gymnastics Academy is proud to announce the results of the Massachusetts State Championship for the Level 3 and 4 girls teams. For many of the girls this year was their first competitive year in the sport and we are very proud of their accomplishments.  Shen’s Gymnastics Academy is a USA Gymnastics Club Member. 

The Level 4 team competed over the weekend of April 14 and 15 and as a team placed third overall. It was a tight competition and the Shen’s  girls took top places as State Champions on all events.

In the Level 4 Child division, Alisa Grishechkina of Holliston is the State Champion in the All Around with a score of 37.175 as well as the State Champ on beam with a 9.45. Alisa also placed second on bars and fourth on floor and vault. 

In second place in the All Around with a score of 36.9, Anabella Mills of N. Attleboro proved she was in it to win it.  Anabella  is the State Champ on Vault with a score of 9.4. She also placed second on beam, third on bars and seventh on floor with a score of 9.125.

Madelyn Peng, who placed third in the All Around with a score of 36.775 is the State Champion on Floor scoring a 9.35 and also State Champion on Bars with a 9.25. Madelyn also placed second on Vault with a 9.375. 

In the Level 4 Junior division, Celia Cronin of Holliston placed third on bars with an 8.8, 13th on beam with an 8.65, and 8.55 on Vault and Floor.  Celia placed ninth in the All Around.  In the Senior Division, Sophia Penchansky, also of Holliston, placed eighth on beam with a 9.075, 8.575 on Floor, 8.650 on Vault and placed 11th in the All Around.

Over the weekend of May 5 and 6, the Level 3 girls set out for their very first State Championship!  In the Child Division, Amabelle Sanford placed second in the All Around with a score of 35.875, second on Beam with a 9.35, second on Floor with a 9.225, third on Bars and seventh on Vault. Also in the Child Division, Elizabeth Geraci placed eighth on Bars, ninth on Vault, and scored 8.5 on Floor, placing 11th All Around, Preethi Ganesan tied for ninth place on Vault with an 8.550 and 12th on Floor with an 8.45.  Sohia Natale, Junior Division, placed 10th on Beam with an 8.6 and 8.4 on Floor, placing 13th All Around.  Paige Dwyer placed 11th on Floor with an 8.55 and 13th on Vault with an 8.4.

In the Senior Age Division, Catherine Von Hausen placed second on Beam with a score of 9.5. Catherine also placed fourth on Bars and seventh on Vault and Floor with scores of 9.050 and 9.2 respectively, placing sixth in the All Around with a 36.8.  Caitlin O’Connell placed third on Beam with a 9.45. Caitlin also placed 11th on Floor with a score of 9.05 finishing in the All Around in 6th place with a score of 36.225.  Grace O’Donnell placed 6th on Beam with a score of 9.225! Grace also placed ninth on Bars with an 8.85, 13th on Floor with a 8.95 and finished 10th in the All Around with a score of 35.875.  Molly Hardiman placed 9th on Floor with a score of 9.1, 11th on Bars with an 8.65, 13th on Beam with an 8.75 and finished in 11th place in the All Around with a score of 35.2.  Kamala Chuss finished the day in 14th place on Beam with an 8.650 and scored an 8.75 on Vault.
