Beloved Jamaica Plain Eatery Closes Unexpectedly

The beloved James’s Gate Restaurant and Pub has closed its doors to Jamaica Plain residents.

The establishment had been providing great food and drink to local community members since 1997. According to Boston Restaurant Talk, the eatery suddenly called it quits on Monday evening without informing staff members.

The restaurant was known for its warm, inviting atmosphere, which attracted many repeat customers over the years.

James’s Gate thanked all of their “faithful patrons” for their support over the years in a note taped to the front door of the restaurant, a photograph snapped by the Jamaica Plain News indicated.
