Defunct Boston Parenting Center to Pay Thousands of Customers

Isis Parenting, a former four-store company offering baby toys with prenatal education and child development classes, has agreed to pay $260,000 to settle allegations that the business acted unfairly when it continued to sell services to its customers in the weeks leading up to its January 2014 closing, WCVB reported.

The company canceled all ongoing and future classes after closing doors, leaving Massachusetts consumers with no refund or recourse, Attorney General Maura Healey said in a statement.

Isis Parenting allegedly held going-out-of-business sales at stores in Needham, Arlington, Boston and Hanover without following property state law requirements, the Boston Herald noted.

Isis Parenting will pay more than $184,000 to affected customers, $50,000 in civil penalties and $25,000 in attorneys’ fees.
