The program has 15 seats and is meant for children aged 6-10 years.

The Jamaica Plain branch of the Boston Public Library plans to work with the JP-based Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts to offer a woodworking class, the library announced Tuesday.
As part of the effort, students who participate will learn to measure, sand, saw, hammer, join glue, work with texture and engage in a variety of projects, such as making a nameplate and building a book safe.
The program, sponsored by the Boston Public Library Foundation and meant for children aged 6-10 years, will begin on Sept. 29 and run for 10 weeks on Mondays from 4-5 p.m. through Dec. 8. The program is also limited to 15 participants.
