Next to J.P. Variety Store there are three vacant spaces which used to be local businesses. The vacancies are at 166, 168 and 170 South St. At least one of the businesses used to be a hair salon – with a sign depicting the face of Scarlett Johansson – another was once a cleaners. Based on previous articles which posed the same question, many wanted a new Italian restaurant, a butchery or a new clothing store But what businesses would be perfect to round out this particular commercial block on South Street near Forest Hills?
