Students and staff at the high school needed to walk through metal detectors​ Thursday morning to enter the school building.

LYNNFIELD, MA — A bullet was found in a bathroom at Lynnfield High School Wednesday, according to school officials.

Students and staff at the high school needed to walk through metal detectors Thursday morning to enter the school building, Boston 25 News reported.

School officials said a custodian found the bullet around 3 p.m., Wednesday, and immediately brought it to administrators. Students had already been dismissed for the day when the bullet was discovered. Lynnfield police had a K-9 unit search the school. Police said students were never in danger.
