Opinion: If They Can Build It In Plymouth, Why Can’t We?
In a letter to the editor, resident points to Plymouth as another reason to support rail trail in Lynnfield.
A letter to the editor from Ken MacNulty:
This past June the Tidmarsh Wildlife Sanctuary - a 481 acre landscape of cold-water streams, ponds, forest, and woodlands in Plymouth Mass received funding from the Baker Administration and the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) to construct an accessible trail to provide recreational opportunities through this wildlife sanctuary. Massachusetts Audubon leadership publicly stated that they were “delighted” to receive this funding as it allows these sensitive lands to be “permanently protected and open for all to enjoy”. If such a trail can be thoughtfully, co-operatively and successfully developed through a protected habitat in Plymouth, why can we not accomplish this for Lynnfield?
Please attend the Special Town Meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 26th and vote “YES” on the warrant to fund the design stage of our rail trail.
