Please Listen to your Selectman and Vote NO on Rail Trail

Vote NO

Once again a Rail Trail is in the news for another woman attacked on the Mattapan section of Rail Trail. This is not more scare tactics, this is stating a fact, a fact does not want to be heard by the Friends of the Rail Trail. However, the fact still remains that just yesterday another woman was attacked on a Rail Trail.

At the Lynnfield's Selectman's meeting on Monday, September 9th many good points were raised why the town should not provide the $348,000 needed to complete the final design for the Lynnfield-Wakefield Rail Trail. We were told over, and over again by the Friends for The Rail Trail, that the rail trail would NOT cost the town of Lynnfield any money at all, and now before the final design, it will cost our town $348,000. I would like to thank our Selectman for voting NO on this funding, and hope the town will follow in their thinking that there is no reason to rush into this. I am extremely proud of the way the selectman handled themselves at this meeting by refusing to grant their approval for this funding. Many people believe that the $348,000 is just the tip of the iceberg and this trail WILL end up costing the taxpayers dearly. So please, join your Selectman in VOTING NO at the Special Town Meeting on September 26th.
Thank you,
Debbie LaConte
