The Rink At MarketStreet Lynnfield To Open For 10th Year Next Weekend

The Nov. 11 opening will include a skating party with a DJ, treats, a hot cocoa bar, curling and ice cornhole.

LYNNFIELD, MA — A North Shore winter tradition returns next week with the opening of The Rink at MarketStreet Lynnfield for a 10th season.

MarketStreet will host an opening skating party from noon to 3 p.m. on Nov. 11 that includes a DJ, curling lane, ice cornhole, a hot cocoa bar, and plenty of warm and sweet treats.

All those attending that day will receive a wristband that will give them discounts at select stores in the open-air shopping district. Tickets are $20 for the opening party.

"What better way to keep our 10th-anniversary celebration going than with our annual opening of The Rink, a seasonal tradition for our area community and all of Greater Boston," MarketStreet General Manager Charlotte Woods said. "The Rink is always a welcome sign that both the holidays and outdoor winter fun are just around the corner."

The Rink includes a twinkling lights-illuminated ice surface with continuous music playing, including seasonal favorites leading up to Christmas.

There are cast iron chimenea fire pits and benches surrounding the ice, a warming tent near the ice and skate rentals. Those attending can also bring their own skates.

The Rink is open through Feb. 25 near lululemon, J. Crew and JP Licks.

The Rink is open Mondays through Fridays from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. — weather permitting.

Regular skating rates are $12 with children 3 and under free. Skate rentals are $5.
