Are You Worried About Crime Rising As the Weather Gets Warmer?

As the weather gets warmer crime often rises. 

This week police officers from six communities, including Malden, will join together to fight crime in hopes that the coming summer will be better than the last. Starting on Wednesday officers from Malden, Everett, Revere, Saugus, Chelsea, and Winthrop will have expanded powers to make traffic stops and arrests across that region, according to a report in Sunday's Boston Globe.

The agreement between the communities was made in the wake of an increase in violent crimes, including in Malden in September and in October.

After these incidents at a Ward 8 crime meeting in the eastern part of the city where many of these incidents occurred.  They demanded answers from Mayor Howard and the city councilors.
