Community Center Worker Goes 'Above And Beyond': Patch Hero

MALDEN, MA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Gina Ciampi, who nominated Karen Hayes, a community center employee who went "above and beyond" to deliver essential supplies to her home.

What does the nominee do for work?

Karen is an amazing woman who works at the community center and when I was in desperate need of food and cleaning supplies Karen not only connected me with Malden neighbors helping neighbors, but, also after her long day at work came to my home to bring me the essential supplies I needed!!

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?

I believe on top of everything else Karen Hayes does for this community, on this day Karen went above and beyond by personally bringing me and my 12 yr old daughter the supplies we needed.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?
